Schramberg's local air quality is shaped mainly by vehicle traffic along the regional road network and nearby tourism and small-scale manufacturing, set within the Black Forest foothills and upper Rhine valley. The upper Rhine valley floor can trap pollutants under calm conditions, while regional airflow off the Black Forest keeps background pollution levels comparatively low throughout the year.

Is air quality bad in Schramberg right now?
On 15 August 2026, overall air quality in Schramberg is medium. AQI is the main air quality indicator at 59.8/100. Pollution peaks around 1:00 PM (O3: 59.8/100).
Will air quality be worse tomorrow in Schramberg?
On 16 August 2026, air quality conditions in Schramberg will be worse than today, with NO2 forecast at fair at 33.3/100. Pollution peaks around 3:00 PM (O3: 44.6/100).
When is air pollution at its worst in Schramberg?
The most noticeable dips in Schramberg's air quality come when linden, beech, and spruce pollen peaks, or on calm, hot days when local sources build up; the town's own traffic remains a modest, everyday contributor. Ragweed levels rise modestly from mid-August, consistent with much of southern Germany. Clearer conditions generally arrive on breezier, wetter days.
Are air quality levels in Schramberg based on measurements or forecasts?
It is forecasts derived by downscaling forecasts provided by EU’s Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS) by taking into account local conditions such as traffic patterns. CAMS bases its forecast on satellite measurements of particles and chemical compounds in the atmosphere. Airmine’s services were developed with support from the European Space Agency (ESA)’s Business Applications and Space Solutions (BASS) team.
Why doesn’t the forecast always reflect wildfire impacts?
Airmine’s forecast uses CAMS (Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service) as its background atmospheric model. While CAMS includes wildfire emissions, these are derived from satellite observations and are not available in real time. During rapidly evolving wildfire events, there may therefore be a delay before increased emissions are incorporated into the model. As a result, the forecast may temporarily underestimate PM₂.₅ and other pollutants associated with wildfire smoke.
During rapidly evolving wildfire events, CAMS may lag by approximately 1–2 days before increased wildfire emissions are fully represented, which can lead to temporary underestimation of PM₂.₅ concentrations in Airmine’s forecast.
