Quirinópolis's air quality reflects the Goiás southwestern cerrado plateau at 489 metres, with vehicle emissions from the GO-184 and surrounding sugarcane, ethanol, and soybean agribusiness contributing local sources. Dry season burning from surrounding Cerrado agricultural land contributes seasonal PM2.5 variation between June and September, while the flat plateau terrain generally allows reasonable dispersal and the sugarcane ethanol distilleries' organic emissions add a distinctive local air quality signature throughout the harvest season.
