Morada Nova's air quality reflects the Ceará central Sertão interior in the Banabuiú river basin, with vehicle emissions from the CE-040 and surrounding cotton, cattle, and irrigated agriculture contributing local sources. Drought conditions and Caatinga burning contribute seasonal PM10 elevation, while the flat semi-arid terrain generally allows reasonable wind dispersal on most days and the inland position reduces the beneficial Atlantic trade wind coastal ventilation throughout the year.
