Luziânia's air quality reflects its position in the greater Brasília metropolitan area in the Goiás Entorno district, with vehicle emissions from the BR-040 and the surrounding mixed residential and agricultural character of this major Brasília satellite city contributing local sources. The elevated Central Plateau position at 1,021 metres aids background dispersal, while dry season burning from surrounding Cerrado agricultural land contributes severe seasonal PM2.5 variation across the entire Federal District and Goiás Entorno region.
