Anápolis' air quality reflects its position on the Goiás plateau between Brasília and Goiânia, with vehicle emissions from the BR-060 and the DAIA industrial district's pharmaceutical and chemical manufacturing operations contributing the primary local sources. The elevated Central Plateau position at 1,017 metres generally aids background dispersal, while dry season burning from surrounding Cerrado agricultural land contributes seasonal PM2.5 variation across the entire Centre-West Brazilian region.
