The Hammocks' air quality benefits from Miami-Dade County's flat suburban position, with consistent Atlantic and Gulf sea breezes providing reliable maritime ventilation across this southwestern Miami-Dade unincorporated community. Vehicle emissions from SR-874 and the surrounding residential character are the primary local sources, while summer ozone from intense subtropical heat and the broader Miami metropolitan traffic is the primary warm-season concern and the flat coastal terrain allows good wind dispersal throughout the year.
