Worst air pollution Clewiston, today and tomorrow

Today (9 August): Air quality in Clewiston is very poor. AQI, PM2.5, and PM10 are very poor; O3 and PM1 are fair; NO2, SO2, CO, and HCHO are good. Pollution peaks around 1:00 AM (PM10: 100/100).
Tomorrow (10 August 2026): Air quality in Clewiston is very poor. SO2 increases to medium; all other pollutants stay as today. Pollution peaks around 6:00 AM (PM10: 100/100). Airmine updates local air quality forecasts four times daily.

Clewiston's air quality is shaped largely by humid south Florida air; cane-field burning during harvest is a notable seasonal factor. That mix of factors is fairly representative of towns in this part of the country. Longer-term residents of Clewiston tend to plan outdoor activity around these predictable shifts.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is air quality bad in Clewiston right now?

On 9 August 2026, overall air quality in Clewiston is very poor. AQI is the main air quality indicator at 100/100. Pollution peaks around 1:00 AM (PM10: 100/100).

Will air quality be worse tomorrow in Clewiston?

On 10 August 2026, air quality conditions in Clewiston will be similar to today, with AQI forecast at very poor at 100/100. Pollution peaks around 6:00 AM (PM10: 100/100).

When is air pollution at its worst in Clewiston?

Like most US cities, Clewiston sees air quality shift from season to season. Typically, the wet season's frequent storms generally keep particulate levels lower than in the dry months, while without the wet season's regular storms, dry-season smoke can linger for days at a time. Inland areas tend to see more smoke buildup than locations closer to the coast.

Are air quality levels in Clewiston based on measurements or forecasts?

It is forecasts derived by downscaling forecasts provided by EU’s Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS) by taking into account local conditions such as traffic patterns. CAMS bases its forecast on satellite measurements of particles and chemical compounds in the atmosphere. Airmine’s services were developed with support from the European Space Agency (ESA)’s Business Applications and Space Solutions (BASS) team.

Why doesn’t the forecast always reflect wildfire impacts?

Airmine’s forecast uses CAMS (Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service) as its background atmospheric model. While CAMS includes wildfire emissions, these are derived from satellite observations and are not available in real time. During rapidly evolving wildfire events, there may therefore be a delay before increased emissions are incorporated into the model. As a result, the forecast may temporarily underestimate PM₂.₅ and other pollutants associated with wildfire smoke.

During rapidly evolving wildfire events, CAMS may lag by approximately 1–2 days before increased wildfire emissions are fully represented, which can lead to temporary underestimation of PM₂.₅ concentrations in Airmine’s forecast.
