Ar Rass's air quality reflects the flat Saudi Arabian Najd plateau's Qassim Region position at 622 metres adjacent to Buraydah, with vehicle traffic on surrounding roads and the date farming, poultry, and agricultural corridor contributing local sources. Windblown Najd and Nefud Desert dust generates elevated PM10 during dust storm events, while the flat plateau allows reasonable dispersal and Ar Rass generally maintains moderate to elevated Najd Qassim plateau readings throughout most of the year.
