Medgidia owes much of its air quality variation to cement-industry emissions and vehicle traffic across the plain, compounded by its position on the Danube-Black Sea canal plain. The surrounding Constanţa terrain can either help disperse or trap these emissions depending on the weather, with active, breezy conditions generally bringing the clearest air.
