Consistent Indian Ocean southeast trade winds provide maritime ventilation, while the dry season's agricultural burning from surrounding Mozambican savanna contributes elevated PM2.5 and Maputo generally maintains moderate to elevated East African Indian Ocean coastal capital readings throughout most of the year.
