Ramos Arizpe's air quality reflects the greater Monterrey-Saltillo corridor's Coahuila plateau position at 1,600 metres adjacent to General Motors and Chrysler manufacturing, with vehicle traffic on surrounding roads and the automotive manufacturing and industrial character generating elevated industrial emissions. The elevated plateau position aids dispersal on most days, while winter inversions create seasonal challenges and the automotive industrial scale makes Ramos Arizpe one of Mexico's most distinctively automotive-defined smaller cities.
