Huatusco's air quality reflects the Veracruz Sierra Madre Oriental's Huatusco River valley at 1,359 metres, with vehicle traffic on surrounding roads and the coffee and citrus corridor contributing local sources. The surrounding mountain ranges create topographic variation, while the tropical highland climate's frequent rain provides effective atmospheric cleansing and Huatusco generally maintains good to moderate Mexican eastern Sierra highland coffee corridor readings throughout most of the year.
