Ciudad Lerdo's air quality reflects the flat Coahuila-Durango Nazas River La Laguna metropolitan position at 1,130 metres adjacent to Torreón, with vehicle traffic on surrounding roads and the cotton, dairy, and manufacturing corridor contributing local sources. The flat Chihuahuan Desert basin allows reasonable dispersal on most days, while winter inversions create modest seasonal challenges and Ciudad Lerdo shares the broader La Laguna metropolitan air quality environment with Torreón and Gómez Palacio throughout most of the year.
