Tsushima in Aichi reflects the Aichi Prefecture Kiso River delta position adjacent to Nagoya, with vehicle traffic on surrounding roads and the manufacturing, agricultural, and services corridor contributing local sources. The flat Nobi Plain allows reasonable dispersal, while summer photochemical ozone from the vast Chukyo metropolitan corridor is the primary warm-season concern and Tsushima generally maintains moderate Nagoya metropolitan western readings throughout most of the year.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is air quality bad in Tsushima right now?

On 16 July 2026, overall air quality in Tsushima is poor. AQI is the main air quality indicator at 66.9/100. Pollution peaks around 12:00 PM (O3: 66.9/100).

Will air quality be worse tomorrow in Tsushima?

On 17 July 2026, air quality conditions in Tsushima will be similar to today, with AQI forecast at poor at 74.6/100. Pollution peaks around 4:00 PM (O3: 74.6/100).

When is air pollution at its worst in Tsushima?

In Tsushima, traffic on the surrounding roads, steel, cement, and chemical production, together with manufacturing and food processing are the main local sources, with conditions worsening when summer heat and strong sunlight build up. Heat and sunlight combine with emissions to form ozone at ground level. Readings are generally lower during the cooler, cloudier months.

Are air quality levels in Tsushima based on measurements or forecasts?

It is forecasts derived by downscaling forecasts provided by EU’s Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS) by taking into account local conditions such as traffic patterns. CAMS bases its forecast on satellite measurements of particles and chemical compounds in the atmosphere. Airmine’s services were developed with support from the European Space Agency (ESA)’s Business Applications and Space Solutions (BASS) team.
