Ōgaki's air quality reflects the flat Gifu Prefecture Ibi River plain position adjacent to Nagoya, with vehicle traffic on surrounding roads and the textile, synthetic fibre, and manufacturing corridor contributing local sources. The flat Nobi Plain allows reasonable dispersal, while summer photochemical ozone from the vast Chukyo metropolitan corridor is the primary warm-season concern and Ogaki generally maintains moderate Nagoya metropolitan western corridor readings throughout most of the year.
