Kōnosu's air quality reflects the flat Saitama Arakawa River plain position north of Tokyo, with vehicle traffic on surrounding roads and the hina doll manufacturing — Kōnosu being Japan's doll capital — food processing, and residential character contributing local sources. The flat Kanto Plain allows reasonable dispersal, while summer photochemical ozone from the broader Kanto corridor is the primary warm-season concern and Konosu generally maintains moderate Tokyo northern Saitama suburban readings throughout most of the year.
