Fuefuki's air quality reflects the Yamanashi Prefecture Fuefuki River valley position in the Kofu Basin at 280 metres, with vehicle traffic on surrounding roads and the Koshu wine and peach farming corridor contributing distinctive agricultural organic aerosols alongside primary vehicle sources. The basin's dramatic mountain enclosure creates severe winter inversions, while the wine and peach industry's distinctive organic emissions represent Fuefuki's most locally unique air quality characteristic throughout the year.
