Worst air pollution Chiryū, today and tomorrow
Today (16 July): Air quality in Chiryū is poor. AQI and O3 are poor; PM2.5, NO2, and PM1 are fair; PM10, SO2, CO, and HCHO are good. Pollution peaks around 12:00 PM (O3: 68.6/100).
Tomorrow (17 July 2026): Air quality in Chiryū is very poor. AQI worsens to very poor; PM2.5 decreases to good; O3 increases to very poor; all other pollutants stay as today. Pollution peaks around 2:00 PM (O3: 80.9/100). Airmine updates local air quality forecasts four times daily.

Chiryū's air quality reflects the Aichi Prefecture Yahagi River plain position adjacent to Toyota City and the Tokai Junction automotive corridor, with vehicle traffic on surrounding roads and the extraordinary concentration of automotive parts manufacturing — Chiryū sitting at the heart of Toyota's global supply chain — generating elevated automotive industrial and vehicle emissions. The flat Nobi Plain allows reasonable dispersal, while summer photochemical ozone from the Chukyo corridor is the primary warm-season concern and Chiryu's automotive character makes it one of Aichi's most distinctively supply chain-defined urban environments.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is air quality bad in Chiryū right now?
On 16 July 2026, overall air quality in Chiryū is poor. AQI is the main air quality indicator at 68.6/100. Pollution peaks around 12:00 PM (O3: 68.6/100).
Will air quality be worse tomorrow in Chiryū?
On 17 July 2026, air quality conditions in Chiryū will be worse than today, with AQI forecast at very poor at 80.9/100. Pollution peaks around 2:00 PM (O3: 80.9/100).
When is air pollution at its worst in Chiryū?
Chiryū usually sees its poorest air quality when vehicle traffic, heavy industry such as steel, cement, or petrochemical processing, along with manufacturing and food processing coincide with periods when windblown dust events occur. Strong seasonal winds can lift dust from the surrounding dry terrain and push particulate levels sharply higher. Heat and sunlight combine with emissions to form ozone at ground level.
Are air quality levels in Chiryū based on measurements or forecasts?
It is forecasts derived by downscaling forecasts provided by EU’s Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS) by taking into account local conditions such as traffic patterns. CAMS bases its forecast on satellite measurements of particles and chemical compounds in the atmosphere. Airmine’s services were developed with support from the European Space Agency (ESA)’s Business Applications and Space Solutions (BASS) team.
