Atsugichō in Kanagawa reflects the Kanagawa Prefecture Sagami River valley position adjacent to Atsugi, with vehicle traffic on surrounding roads and the manufacturing, JMSDF Atsugi Air Base aviation operations, and residential character contributing elevated local NOₓ. The Sagami valley provides limited ventilation, while the aviation operations represent the most distinctive local emission source and the area generally maintains moderate Kanagawa suburban corridor readings throughout most of the year.
