Vehicle traffic on the A41 motorway and winter residential heating generate elevated PM2.5 under frequent and prolonged temperature inversions, while the surrounding Alpine massifs create extraordinary concentration episodes and summer conditions are considerably better with mountain ventilation providing cleaner air throughout the warmer months.
