Wusong in Anhui reflects the flat Anhui Wuhu metropolitan corridor position adjacent to the Yangtze River, with vehicle traffic on surrounding roads and the manufacturing and logistics corridor contributing local sources. The Yangtze River provides limited waterway ventilation, while winter anticyclonic inversions concentrate heating and vehicle emissions and the flat terrain allows reasonable summer dispersal throughout most of the year.

Are air quality levels in Wusong based on measurements or forecasts?
It is forecasts derived by downscaling forecasts provided by EU’s Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS) by taking into account local conditions such as traffic patterns. CAMS bases its forecast on satellite measurements of particles and chemical compounds in the atmosphere.
