Pudong's air quality reflects the Shanghai metropolitan area's eastern Yangtze delta alluvial plain, with vehicle traffic on Century Avenue and surrounding financial district, semiconductor manufacturing, and logistics corridor contributing elevated industrial and vehicle emissions. East China Sea breezes provide limited maritime ventilation, while winter anticyclonic inversions concentrate emissions and Pudong generally tracks at moderate to elevated Shanghai metropolitan eastern district levels throughout most of the year.
