Longba's air quality reflects the Gansu Bailong River valley's partial enclosure in the southern Gansu mountainous corridor at the Sichuan border, with vehicle traffic on surrounding roads and agricultural and forestry operations contributing modest local sources. The surrounding Qinling and Minshan mountain ranges create significant topographic variation, while the relatively low industrial density generally maintains moderate to good northwestern China southern mountain valley readings throughout most of the year.
