Deyang's air quality reflects the Sichuan Basin's Tuojiang River valley at 492 metres north of Chengdu, with vehicle traffic on surrounding expressways and the heavy machinery, nuclear power equipment, and manufacturing corridor contributing local sources. The Sichuan Basin's topographic enclosure creates concentration under winter inversions, while the nuclear and heavy equipment manufacturing character creates a distinctive industrial emission profile and Deyang generally maintains moderate Sichuan Basin provincial readings.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is air quality bad in Deyang right now?

On 16 July 2026, overall air quality in Deyang is very poor. AQI is the main air quality indicator at 100/100. Pollution peaks around 3:00 PM (O3: 100/100).

Will air quality be worse tomorrow in Deyang?

On 17 July 2026, air quality conditions in Deyang will be better than today, with AQI forecast at poor at 70.5/100. Pollution peaks around 4:00 PM (O3: 70.5/100).

When is air pollution at its worst in Deyang?

In Deyang, traffic on the surrounding roads and manufacturing and food processing are the main local sources, with conditions worsening when calm, stagnant conditions settle in the surrounding valley. The bowl-like terrain here limits how quickly pollutants can escape. Dust carried on these winds adds substantially to particulate levels.

Are air quality levels in Deyang based on measurements or forecasts?

It is forecasts derived by downscaling forecasts provided by EU’s Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS) by taking into account local conditions such as traffic patterns. CAMS bases its forecast on satellite measurements of particles and chemical compounds in the atmosphere. Airmine’s services were developed with support from the European Space Agency (ESA)’s Business Applications and Space Solutions (BASS) team.
