Dayan in Yunnan reflects the Lijiang Naxi Autonomous County's elevated plateau basin at 2,400 metres, with vehicle traffic on surrounding roads and the Lijiang Ancient Town's extraordinary UNESCO heritage tourism corridor contributing concentrated seasonal vehicle emissions. The elevated plateau position aids background dispersal, while the Yulong Snow Mountain backdrop creates dramatic topographic variation and Lijiang generally maintains good to moderate conditions given its extraordinary highland heritage setting throughout most of the year.
